- No horse has done the Epsom/Caulfield Cup double in same year.
- Epsom/Cox Plate double (4) – Nightmarch (1929), Chatham (1932), Noholme (1959), Winx (2015).
- Epsom/Doncaster (season) double – Dundee, Marvel, Chatham, Gunsynd, Super Impose, Winx, Happy Clapper.
- Marvel carried 64.5kg to win in 1891.
- Last true outsider to win was Final Fantasy when winning when the race was 1400m on the Kensington track at 50-1.
- One of the most famous winners was Shannon. He won in 1945 and then in 1946 under 9 stone 9, Shannon missed the start and did not move until the field travelled some distance. In the end he only just missed Blue Legend into second. It is said the starter failed to notice Shannon was not ready.
- Hartnell broke the famous Randwick mile track record winning the 2018 Epsom.
- Wide barriers are no hindrance with 12 of the last 20 being double figure draws.
- Private Eye did what Kolding did in winning the Queensland Guineas/Epsom double and attempted the same treble of the Golden Eagle as well but came 8th.
- For only the third time in the race’s history, there was a dead heat in the 2022 Epsom and it took over ten minutes to decide the photo between Top Ranked and Ellsberg.
- Rediener held on in 2023 giving Kathy O’Hara her 3rd G1. It was historic as Rachel King would win The Metrop a race later making it the first time female jockeys had won multiple G1s on the same card in Australia.
- Joe Pride had to decide between the Epsom and Metrop for Ceolwulf but went to the mile and he was easily.
- Autumn Glow was scratched on the morning of the previous year’s Flight Stakes when a short favourite but finally got her G1 in great style in 2025.
