On the winner: “She is back to her best today. It’s really satisfying because for the last six to twelve months, she has been going as well as she was twelve months ago at home, but on race day she has been doing a few things wrong.”
“She’s been in a little bit of a mood and doing that hanging business up the straight, so we changed her gear around and put some visors on, a lugging bit on. It’s just great to see her back to what I know she’s capable of.”
Onto the Golden Eagle?: “As long as she pulls up okay, I can’t see any reason why we wouldn’t have a crack at a race like that because she is one of the better horses I’ve ever had anything to do with. I’m just so thrilled to see her back in form.”
“It’s really, really satisfying because she has been going so well at home and just not executing on race day. I know how good she is when she’s right.
“We had to tinker around with a bit of gear for today with putting visors on and a lugging bit and it was great to see her back doing what I know she is capable of.”

On the roar at the finish: “It wasn’t about the race that it was, that roar over the line. So much has gone into her back home. She has been so frustrating this preparation, she has been doing things in races that she doesn’t do at home.”
On her form: “Full credit to Michael. Between Wajid, his trackwork rider, Michael (Freedman), (assistant trainers) Ben and Sophie, we’ve all thrown in ideas to try to change the gear around. We had to do that with Transcend, but she’s a headcase. This filly isn’t.”
“She has tested our patience, but it was nice to get that win today. That roar over the line, I know it wasn’t a Group One, but it was more the feeling it was great for the whole team.”
On the mare: “I’ve been riding twenty years, and not many can do what she does at home on the track.”
“I’ve told plenty of people she’s an absolute beast, and that’s why it’s so frustrating. You tell Ben, Rob and the MyRacehorse team on Tuesday, ‘We’ve got her. She’s right,’ and rock up and she’s below par. She’s beaten some very good horses there.
“My only query with her is she’d had enough just on the line. There’s still an option to go to a Golden Eagle, and I know she ran that trip as a three-year-old, but I’m just not sure that’s her at the moment with where she’s at. I’ll leave it up to the team.”

He had an experience last time where he got squeezed out of the gates and I felt like that may still have been in the back of the horse’s mind. I can see him bouncing right back in two weeks time. Chris is a master at having them right on Grand Final. He ran very well and showed tremendous fight.”
