On the clash: “It was great that Peter Moody and the owners brought the mare up to Sydney. This was the first round of competition running these headline horses.”
“As James just said, people come to the races because they want to see these great horses racing each other. We don’t always want the clashes but it is important for the sport. We have come out of round one pretty well but I’m pretty sure there will be round two or round three.”
“We know how good she is, so nothing has changed. We just needed her to come back and show where she is.”
On The Everest possibility: “We might be wishing we were racing Sheza Alibi. But we won’t worry about that today. There are so many things to analyse – the horse’s health first of all, sectional times, the likely competition.”
On how forward she was?: “Peter said Sheza Alibi was 82.7 percent so we might be 83.1 percent. It is hard to quantify. She was ready to go because I didn’t want her to have a tough time first-up. If he had to reach beyond what she was fit enough to do then that is tough. She was forward enough for sure.’’

On the horse: “She's so special, just her gate speed and tractability. She knows when she's in a race because from the 500m to the 400m, it's like she just powers into herself and just builds herself, she just knows.”
“It's an incredible feeling and even though she puts herself in good spots, for her to have that audacity to fill her lungs up and know it's go time, just let rip, it's just incredible.”
On taking on Sheza Alibi: “She (Autumn Glow) doesn't have to improve. The second horse, take nothing away, she's special as well. An incredible performance by her and I think we just embrace the two mares for how good they are.”
“Even if they clash they’re two special, great horses that have come along at the same time. One's a year older, but when they have their clashes it's going to be some great rivalry. I wouldn't swap all to go for nothing but I love the competitiveness.”

Ethan Brown (Gringotts): “Pretty easy to say he has come up better again. He has run out of his skin. He’s in for a good prep and benefit from the run.”
Hugh Bowman (Lindermann): “I thought he was sound. The pace had him in a beautiful rhythm early. When Tim picked the pace up from the 800m, it was a bit too much for him first up. He felt the pinch late. Will come on from it.”
Tim Clark (Midnight Dynamite): “He has had a wonderful prep. Ran well but probably go for a break now.”
Rachel King (Green Spaces): “Very happy with him. 1400m is well short of his best. Travelled well. Best work was the last 100m and a furlong after the post.”
Nash Rawiller (Aeliana): “We got a long way back. Unfortunately got tangled up with Fangirl early. They have run home quick and she has run home as good as any. Over the last furlong she gave me a feel of something special. She is a real darling beast. Just didn’t work for us.”
Tommy Berry (Fangirl): “Very strong gallop the whole way. At the 700m it felt like they put the foot down. Just at my top the whole way which isn’t her sort of go. She peaked probably at the furlong.”
Tyler Schiller (Idle Flyer): “Really good first up. Has come out nicely and relaxed well and quickened through the line. Getting to a mile plus is ideal.”
Kerrin McEvoy (Lady Shenandoah): “Really pleased with her. Felt in good shape. Trailed the speed, presented and will improve from the run. In for a lovely prep.”
Luke Nolen (Sheza Alibi): “Terrific. We are in for a really good prep. She kept closing. The other mare has had a few more pre-seasons than we have. She was a bit sharp for us today. She deserves to be in this company.”
